Canada Immigration: New Express Entry draws to see changes in selection of applicants

The Express Entry draws for FSW and CEC categories are resuming in July 2022. And, the immigration minister Sean Fraser is all set to add new and improved updates to the most popular Express Entry (EE) System.

As a result, we should be expecting new Express Entry draws to see changes in selection of applicants. Such, changes are being introduced to meet the labour market needs of the country. The minister shared that looking at the overall demand in the labour market of Canada, it may look at introducing a separate draw targeting specific in-demand profiles.

This decision comes due to a rise in the job vacancy rate. To know Why is Canada Seeing a Rise of 874700 Job Vacancies in 2022 Click Here!

Also, the other reason for this decision is the huge application backlog due to the pandemic. This is why Canada is all set to resume Express Entry draws (all categories). And has agreed to work towards processing applications as per the earlier standard timeline of 6 months.

The new update Canada wishes to implement is for selecting the right person for the right in-demand job. So, looking forward we can expect Express Entry draws to target certain in-demand occupations. In addition, to select such applicants IRCC will see:

  • The in-demand job profile in Canada,
  • Applicants –
    • work experience (in-demand occupation),
    • education level (matching the work experience), and or
    • language skill level.

However, the proposal is yet to get approval. But this move will help Canada to meet its skilled workforce crises. With the new updates, more overseas workers can move to Canada. And will be able to get a quick and easy Canada visa.

The immigration minister will soon share complete details such as new EE categories (if any) and new eligibility terms.

New Express Entry draws to see changes in selection of applicants

Canada immigration figures are now on a rise. Be it the Express Entry PNP draw, Canada PNP draws and other immigration pathways. And with new updates to the EE System Canada will be able to increase its global popularity as the top immigration spot in 2022.

But why is Canada’s Express Entry (EE) System so famous?

The EE System was launched on Jan 01, 2015. It is an online system that manages applications from its three EE sub-streams such as the:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

As per the category you qualify to apply to, you must launch your EE profile. Your profile will then enter a pool of applicants known as the EE pool. Here each profile as per the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) gets a CRS rank. This rank is calculated as per the information the applicant gives such as age, education, language skills, work experience, connection with Canada etc.

IRCC holds periodic Express Entry draws, where it selects applicants who match or exceed the CRS cut-off. So, if you have a CRS rank higher or match the draw cut-off then you will get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR. And you will have 60 days to submit a complete and error-free Canada PR visa application.

Further, your application will be processed. And if approved you will get a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).

In short, the new updates will help fast-track your Canada PR visa application. So, why wait? Applying now is the best choice to make. Delay your choice and you will delay your chance of living, working and settling in Canada.
