It is a known fact that to enter Canada as a permanent resident the Express Entry (EE) System is the best pathway. The reasons for the same are unparalleled. Getting a PR visa in 6 to 12 months in comparison to other countries is faster and more efficient. Also, the eligibility criteria for Express Entry (EE) are easy. But as we see a pause in the EE draws, the question arises, “Should I create an Express Entry profile for Canada PR now?.”
The answer is what we shall uncover in this blog. As a matter, of fact the answer is affirmatively simple. Because in just a few steps you can Apply, Process, and get Canada PR visa application approval.
To apply you must do the following:
Now, you have successfully created an Express Entry (EE) profile. Now, the true struggle lies in claiming an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to submit a Canada PR visa application to IRCC. This is possible when you match or exceed the CRS cut-off shared by IRCC in periodic EE draws.
As you create your profile this Dec 2023, you have many options to work on your EE profile. Often when you apply to other countries, once you complete the online application process, you can not make changes. Here Canada gives great leverage to foreign skilled workers for you can make changes to your EE profile online until the validity of your EE profile i.e. 12 months.
So, even though it seems that IRCC is pausing the EE draws, you can work on options to raise your CRS score in the EE pool. Remember, if you have a higher CRS score, your chances of clearing an EE draw are much higher. So, you will easily meet your goal of getting an ITA for a PR visa.
Under this option, Canada gives you 2 ways to raise your CRS score:
So, as you wait you can work towards getting a job offer from a Canadian employer. However. all market trends and employer’s preferences, everyone prefers to hire a foreign skilled worker who has a PR visa or wishes to enter Canada on a Work Permit.
Another popular pathway for PR is the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The best part of this program is it is linked to the EE System. So, after creating an Express Entry (EE) profile you can apply to a PNP participating province/territory for a provincial nomination certificate.
Now, you must be wondering why to deroute from the EE System pathway. And apply separately for a PNP nomination. This is because the moment you get a PNP nomination. you will automatically get an extra 600 CRS score.
As a result, your chances of getting an ITA to apply for permanent residency are the highest. In such a situation, the Express Entry + PNP Pathway is the best way to ensure visa success.
The above two options are the best with instant results. However, there are smaller measures to raise a few CRS points as well.
For your education level, you get points. So, if you can add another diploma or degree to your profile, you may get additional points for the same.
However, often people find this option a bit tedious and time-consuming. Because your EE profile will expire in 12 months. Besides, after a bachelor’s degree, you can apply for a master’s degree, but you will end up waiting for 1 or two years more. So, you must plan and choose wisely.
As you create your Express Entry (EE) profile for Canada PR, remember the easiest way to spike your CRS score is to raise your language skill level. To do the same you can claim points for English or French or both.
