YNP is Yukon’s territorial nomination program that helps select potential foreign workers for nomination. In 2024, YNP saw a surge in applications resulting in a pausing of application intake. But finally, the Yukon Nominee Program Opens Jan 29 2025 With Intake Based Process.
As per the intake-based process, the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) will hold multiple intakes through 2025. The first intake starts on Jan 25, 2025. With the territory planning to admit 125 candidates.
However, YNP is planning to have periodic quarterly intakes. But a decision on the same is yet to be made. As of now, 125 people will qualify in the new Yukon Nominee Program intake based process.
Also, to better align with the new process, YNP has requested the federal government to raise its PNP allocation quota. As in 2024, the application intake was higher. This was way higher than the set PNP allocation. As a result, YNP had to close the application intake from employers in Whitehorse.
Thus, with frequent intakes, the Canadian territory can better monitor and handle the selection of applicants for PNP nomination.
