The most popular province of Canada has opened a new program that will attract top talent to its rural areas. Ontario new REDI program to select 800 highly skilled workers. The Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) will run from Jan 02, 2025, to Dec 31, 2025. With an aim to bring highly skilled workers to the following four northern rural areas of Ontario:
Besides, applicants who apply to this program will get a PNP nomination which they can later use to apply for a Canada PR visa.
The REDI program will select 800 highly skilled workers via the OINP Employer Job Offer category’s sub-streams such as:
Also, the newly opened program will address labour shortages and help economic growth in rural regions. To do the same applicants from the following targeted in-demand sectors will get PNP nominations:
As shared above REDI will function under the OINP EJO categories, so applicants will have to meet the eligibility terms of the respective EJO stream they apply to.

OINP REDI program follows the earlier OINP Regional Pilot program. The program was a huge success and ended in 2020 after giving an additional 300 PNP nominations.
Also, through EJO streams, the program benefited the participating regions of Chatham-Kent, Cornwall, and Belleville/Quinte West.
Thus, to mirror the same success and benefits, Ontario started the new REDI program.
