The provincial government of Saskatchewan invites 202 candidates for Canadian Permanent Residence

On May 1st, 202 candidates seeking Canadian permanent residence were sent an invitation.

The invitations were sent to both Express entry candidates as well as Occupation In-Demand Candidates. To emphasize, the candidates must have specific work experience, however, a job offer is not necessary.

As per the notification, Candidates from seven occupations were chosen for an invitation for a provincial nomination by Saskatchewan Provincial government. To point out, All seven occupations were on the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)’s In-demand Occupations List.

In brief Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee, Program Occupations List is given below:

3216 Medical sonographers
4151 Psychologists
4215 Instructors of persons with disabilities

6332    Bakers


*NOC refers to the profession’s code under Canada’s National Occupational Classification

Express Entry System

To explain, Express entry manages candidates from the pool three Immigration Classes:

  1. Canada’s Federal Skilled Worker Class  – The FSW program has minimum requirements including:
    • skilled work experience
    • language ability
    • education
  2. Whereas, In Federal Skilled Trades Class, the candidates must have the required language skills along with minimum 2 years of experience in the skilled trade.
  3. And the Canadian Experience Class. – the candidates must have required language skills along with minimum 1 years of skilled experience in Canada. 

Requirement of EOI

To explain, In order to receive the invitations for the provincial nominations for both Express entry and Occupation In-Demand Sub-category, candidates must submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to the SINP.

In fact, Once the candidate submits EOI, an assessment of the profile is done. In general, assessment is done on certain factors, for example:

  • work experience
  • age
  • language ability.
  • family
  • work or study connections to Saskatchewan

Notably, preference is given High-scoring candidates. Further, an invitation is issued to candidates for provincial nomination.

Furthermore, 67 was the score of the lowest-scoring Express Entry and Occupation in-Demand candidate.

To enumerate, an Additional 600 points are given to the candidates who get a provincial nomination. Therefore, enhancing the chances of the candidates of getting an invitation to apply for Canadian Permanent residence in the express entry Draw.
