PGP Application process
To explain, PGP allows eligible Canadian and Permanent residents over the age of 18 to sponsor their parents and/or grandparents for Canadian permanent residence.
In fact, The Interested candidates must submit an Interest to Sponsor form during the annual submission period which is usually January.
Furthermore, interested candidates usually have 60 days from the date they receive an invitation to their submit applications along with supporting documentation.
IRCC has set a target of 20,000 complete applications to the PGP for 2019.
IRCC also notified that it will keep the submission and contact information of the candidates who didn’t receive an invitation, even if they have successfully submitted the Interest to Sponsor Form. On the positive side, IRCC’s website says it may further open the Interest to sponsor form again in 2019 “if they require more potential sponsors”.
