500 Federal Skilled Trades Class candidates invited in the latest Express Entry Draw.

In a draw held on 15 May 2019, the government of Canada invited 500 candidates under Federal Skilled Trades Class. To enumerate, The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become Canadian permanent residence. Notably, 332 was the lowest score of CRS (Comprehensive Ranking Score). Therefore, candidates who got a score of  332 or above are given preference for the invitation.

To point out, there was a dip of 106 points, which was lower than 438. The lowest among all-program express entry draw, till date.

Conditions for Applying under FST (Federal Skilled Trades) Class

To apply under the Federal Skilled Trades Class, the foreign nationals must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Applicants must have a certificate of qualifications as proof that they have sufficient qualification to work in a skilled trade occupation in Canada.
  • Applicants must have an eligible offer of employment in Canada.

Furthermore, The Express Entry System manages the pool of candidates through three economic-class immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Workers Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Canadian Experience Class

Additionally, certain factors used for generating CRS score are:

  1. Age.
  2. Education.
  3. Skilled Work experience.
  4. Proficiency in English or French.

Moreover, candidates scoring high CRS are given an invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residence.

List of Skilled Trades organized under NOC

Presently, Skilled trades for the Federal Skilled Trades Program given under the groups of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) are :

  1. Major Group 72: Industrial, electrical and construction trades.

2. Major Group 73: Maintenance and equipment operation trades.

3. Major Group 82: Supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture, and related production.

4. Major Group 92: Processing, manufacturing, and utility supervisors and central control operators.

5.  Minor Group 632: Chefs and cooks.

6.  Minor Group 633: Butchers and bakers.

To conclude, the Canadian government conducts Niche draws at regular details. Further, Niche draw primarily focusses on sending an invitation to candidates from a small pool of candidates. Usually, the Canadian government provides low cut off score for such draws.
