On a draw held on 22nd May, the provincial government of Saskatchewan sent 325 invitations to immigration interested candidates under SINP. The candidates after the invitations can apply for provincial nominations for Canadian permanent residence.
To enumerate, out of a total of 325 candidates, 221 invitations went to Occupation-In demand candidates. Whereas, 104 invitations went to Express entry candidates.
Both Occupation-In Demand Category and Express Entry System are a key part of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
To explain, SINP offers a pathway to foreign nationals to immigrate to Canada. Through SINP, the programs invite residency application from the candidates who want to live and work in Saskatchewan. Further, the provincial government nominates successful applicants to the federal government, so that the candidates can attain Canadian permanent residence.

To point out, as per a provincial government report, since 2007, a total of 1,08,000 migrants from 170 countries have made Saskatchewan their home. Notably, immigration is helping in the population boom and labor force growth in Saskatchewan.
An important eligibility factor for both the categories is the presence of work experience in one of the 19 occupations that are in the In-demand occupation list of the Saskatchewan province.
On a positive side, there is no requirement of a job letter from a Saskatchewan employer.
In 2019, a total of 854 invitations has been issued in Occupation In-Demand subcategory, whereas as 814 through Saskatchewan express entry sub-category, under SINP.

Moreover, the Express Entry candidates with a provincial nominee receive an additional 600 points towards their CRS score. Therefore, increasing the chances of the candidates on receiving the invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
In Contrast, the processing of the applications for Canadian permanent residence for candidates under Occupation In demand sub-category is done outside the express entry system.
To point out, a submission of Expression of interest with the SINP is a must for consideration in either of the subcategories.
