Feb. 19 is the day when IRCC broke its 4000 ITA mark in its biggest Canada Express Entry draw. For the first time, Canada has issued such a large number of ITA in its EE draw. The draw crossed the previous largest mark of 3921 ITA issued on April 13, 2017. Whereas the CRS score saw a decrease of 2 points from the recent draw on Feb 5, 2020.
For this year Canada has set its ITA target at 85,800.
Feb 19 draw is the 4th EE draw of 2020 which brings this year’s ITA total to 14,800.
The Express Entry (EE) System is Canada’s most sought after immigration system. It manages profiles under:
When you apply in the EE system, your profile is entered into the EE pool. Your profile is processed to check if you qualify for Canada immigration. During the processing of your profile, you will get a rank as per your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. In the EE pool, your high CRS score will help you in getting an ITA. In CRS, your profile gets a ranking after checking if you meet its terms. You must meet the terms of the following factors:
Note: You do not need a job offer to apply in the EE system. But if you have a valid job offer then you can get an extra 600 CRS points.
The EE system conducts draw every two weeks. If you have a high CRS score, then you will get an ITA. An ITA will help you to apply to IRCC for permanent residence in Canada.

If your CRS score was not equal or more than 470, then not all is lost. You can still apply to other immigration programs in Canada. A fine example of this is the Provincial Nomination Program (PNP). All of Canada’s 9 provinces and 2 territories follow the PNP system to admit foreign skilled immigrants. You too can apply for PNP as it is linked with the EE system. Thus, if you qualify, you will get an extra 600 CRS points. As a result, you will get an ITA after which you can apply for Canada PR.
