This Work Permit Stream comes under the Business Impact Category of the PEI PNP. And helps entrepreneurs for getting a provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Also, this stream helps the island to get skilled entrepreneurs who can add to the economy of the province. However, the stream hires those applicants who have the highest chances of setting up a successful business in the province.
Further, the PEI PNP uses a point-based selection process through its Expression of Interest (EOI) system. And selects the profiles that meet its terms. It then issues an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for provincial nomination to apply for a Canada PR.
If you want to run a business, then you can apply to PEI PNP Work Permit Stream. Under this stream, you can set-up and run a business on a valid work permit for a minimum of 1 year, before receiving a Canada PR. If you get an invitation to apply (ITA), then you must sign a Business Performance Agreement (BPA). Also, after approval, you will get a Letter of Support to apply for a work permit to IRCC. However, if you meet all the terms of the BPA then you will get a nomination for permanent residence in Canada.

An EOI is not a formal application to PEI but shows the applicant’s interest in applying to the program. Also, priority is given to applicants who prove that they can successfully establish themselves in the province.

All applicants must show proof of job-ready English or proof of having a post-secondary bachelor’s degree or higher, a minimum of 3 years program in English or French. Because this proves that applicants can communicate in English to live, work, and settle in Canada. Besides, an EOI profile gets 10 points extra for giving proof of language skills in both English and French.
Further, to do so give test results for English/French with proficiency in 4 key areas such as Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
You can give test results of IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, and TCF to check if you meet the required CLB level (English) or NCLC (French). However, these test results must not be more than 2 years old at the time of applying.
