February sees record-low unemployment in Quebec.

The province is witnessing a record-low unemployment rate, as per the Labour Force Survey, 2020. In February Quebec employed 66,000 people.

Since the past 3 months, the province is seeing an uprise in the employment rate. The employment gains in Quebec resulted in a low unemployment rate of 4.5% in Jan. This figure is the lowest since the availability of data by Statistics Canada in 1976. The youth (15 – 24 age group) has benefited the most from this drop. As the unemployment rate for them dropped to 6.8%, which is seen as the lowest since 1976. Thus, the current record-low unemployment rate makes Quebec immigration quick and easy.

Statistics Canada defines:

Employment rate: (employment/population ratio) Number of employed persons expressed as a percentage of the population 15 years of age and over. The employment rate for a particular group (age, sex, marital status, province, etc.) is the number employed in that group expressed as a percentage of the population for that group.

How can low-unemployment in Quebec benefit you in getting a quick and easy Canada visa?

Looking for a job in Canada? If yes, then you are in for a treat. Quebec’s low-unemployment rate is such a positive sign for you. Now, you have more job options to choose from as the Canadian employers are under pressure. They must hire and retain skilled workers to fill the gaps in their labour market needs. Thus, ‘job-seekers market’ indicates the period when Canada or its province(s) have a low unemployment rate.

The country understands its increasing labour shortage. And that it has a high rate of baby boomers who are retiring soon. To curb this need they need youth to enter the labour market. But unfortunately, Canada has a low percentage of young people in the country. As a result, it is focusing on immigration to meet the needs of the labour market and economy.

Employment in other provinces of Canada

Alberta, Nova Scotia and Manitoba had significant employment gains. Whereas the rest of the country had a slow or unchanged rate.
