Architects To Get ECA For Canada Visa From New Designated Body

2024 is the year of Canada’s immigration updates. Following the tradition Canada is sharing wonderful news for architects who wish to get an ECA report for their Canada visa. Architects to get ECA for Canada visa from new designated body. As of May 20, 2024, the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) will be evaluating the educational credentials of architects.

The CACB is the 8th addition to the list of designated bodies that the Canada government authorises to issue an ECA report.

But what is an ECA report?

An Educational  Credential Assessment (ECA) report is a document that you must get when applying for a Canada visa. With an ECA report, IRCC can check:

  • Firstly, whether your foreign education level matches Canada’s or not.
  • Secondly, if you have received your educational credential from a designated institution or not.
  • Also, to check if your educational transcripts are fake or not.

This is why Canada mandates all visa aspirants to submit an ECA report when applying to most of its economic immigration programs.

How can architects benefit from getting an ECA from the new designated body CACB?

As an architect do you intend to move to Canada in 2024? If yes, then the current Canada immigration update is the best for you. As architects get new ECA body CACB, you can get an ECA report in no time.

Up till now, applying to other bodies could have resulted in delays due to heavy application intake. However, with CACB, you can easily get an ECA report in no time. Also, an ECA report is valid for 5 years. So, even if you are applying for a Canada visa again, you need not go through the whole ECA process again.

Where can you use an ECA report as an architect?

You will majorly need an ECA report when you are applying to get a Canada PR visa. However, to do the same you will have to apply to the infamous Express Entry (EE) System. To do so you will have to:

  • Firstly, create an EE profile under 1 of the EE sub-streams:
    • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSTP)
    • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
    • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Secondly, meet Human Capital Factors:
    • Age
    • Education
    • Work Experience
    • Language Skills

Besides, IRCC holds periodic Express Entry draws of 6 types:

  1. General draw
  2. FSW draw
  3. FST draw
  4. CEC draw
  5. PNP draw
  6. Category based-draws:
    1. STEM occupations
    2. Healthcare occupations
    3. Agriculture & Agri-food occupations
    4. Transport occupations
    5. Trade occupations
    6. French language skills

If you match the CRS cut-off in any of the above EE draws, you will get an ITA. With this invitation, you will have to submit a complete and error-free Canada PR application with all supporting documents. One such document is the ECA report.
