On April 10, 2020, IRCC announced it will continue to process study visa applications. But it will process study applications to a certain limit. Earlier for study visa, the deadline for submitting biometrics was 30 days. Now the same has been increased to 90 days.
Unfortunately, some visa centres are closed due to COVID-19. But Canada is allowing entry of students with a study permit issued before March 18, 2020, when the travel restrictions were applied.
Also, only permanent residents who have a Canada PR issued before March 18, 2020, can enter the country.
Travel restrictions are pausing the processing of non-essential visitor visa applications. But the government sees it as a way to redirect resources to essential services.
