Canada postpones Agri-food immigration pilot launch till May
Share with :

The Agri-food Pilot launch is delayed by Canada govt. This step is taken due to the current outbreak of coronavirus.

Canada govt has announced the rescheduling of the Agri-food pilot. This new immigration pilot will help skilled workers from the agri-food industry (especially meat and mushroom production industries) apply for permanent residence in Canada. This program was supposed to begin from Mar 30. But due to govt taking measures to stop coronavirus, this program is expected to start from May 15, 2020, till May 14, 2023.

As per IRCC, people preparing to apply for this program will see delays. This delays will be in receiving supporting documents such as proof of education and language proficiency. Because the org’s that give these services have temporarily reduced working or stopped it completely due to COVID-19.

Despite coronavirus, Canada is letting people enter Canada. But that too has its terms such as:

  • Firstly, Canadians, temporary residents, and their immediate family members can enter the country;
  • Secondly, you can enter the country through the land;
  • But you can only enter if you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Also, everyone entering Canada must self-quarantine for 14 days.
