World Happiness Report 2025 ranks Canada at the 18th spot. However, Canada reigns again as Happiest among all G7 countries.
Since 2020, Canada has been performing well every year as the top happiest country among the G7 and G20 countries.
In the current 2025 report, the country ranks 18th. However, this is a slight drop from its earlier 15th rank in 2024. Besides, this slide in ranking is common amongst all G7 countries. And this has been going on for the past 5 years.
This includes the UK at 22nd rank, the USA at 23RD rank, Germany at 22nd rank, etc. So, looking at the top economic powerhouses slide on the Global Happiness Report, Canada was bound to slip a few spots.
However, the top 20 rank holders on the 2025 Global Happiness Report are:
Looking at the above, we can clearly see European countries dominating the happiness report now. Followed by countries from North America, Oceania, the Middle East and Central America.
One may wonder if Canada is still attractive after slipping in the happiness report. However, one must not forget that the country ranks as the 4th Best country in the world as per the US News Best Countries in the World list 2024-25.
So, the slight dip may be due to the current changing political climate. However, with early elections, we can expect a new positive direction and the ranking shall change for good in 2026.
