Canada continues to select a higher number of Canadian Experience Class (CEC), applicants. As evident from Canada issuing Invitation to Apply (ITA) to 3,515 Express Entry (EE) applicants. These applicants can now apply for permanent residence in Canada. Also, this is the 2nd consecutive EE draw this week with April 27 EE PNP specific draw selecting 385 applicants with a CRS score of 300.
Besides to qualify in the April 28 EE draw, applicants must have a CRS score of 440. Also, the CRS score fell 7 points from May 14 EE CEC draw CRS score of 447. Further, the tie break rule applied in this draw was set to March 7, 2020, at 10:36:59 UTC. This means applicants who submitted either profile before this date and time with a CRS score of 440 and applicants with a CRS score of 440 or more received an ITA in this draw.
To qualify in this draw applicants needed to have:
Besides applicants who receive a provincial nomination against their EE profile will receive an extra 600 CRS score. This will increase their chance of receiving an ITA to apply for a Canada PR.
Express Entry draw selects 3,515 CEC applicants on May 28, which is an increase of 144 applicants as compared to the selection of 3,371 applicants on May 14, 2020 EE CEC draw.
In the year 2020, we see Canada more focused on selecting a higher number of foreign immigrants. This may be partly due to current travel restrictions and the immigration targets for 2020. However, looking at the frequency of draws, there is no doubt that Canada is on a steady path to meeting its 2020 immigration target of 341,000.
