The Honourable Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has confirmed the resuming of Express Entry (EE) System FSW and CEC draws. After an 18 months pause in these draws, Canada is re-starting these draws. So, this means that applicants who have been waiting for an ITA in the EE pool, now have a chance of getting the same.
Canada due to the pandemic paused the FSW and FST draw in December 2020. Whereas it paused the CEC draws in September 2021. Since then the country has just been issuing ITAs for Express Entry applicants with a provincial nomination.
July 06 2022 resuming of FSW and CEC draws confirmed. We can now expect a higher number of selection of applicants. So, if you are either waiting for an ITA or want to apply for Canada PR then your chances of the same are bright.
The decision of IRCC to continue the draws is to meet its labour market and economic needs. Due to the pausing of draws the country saw a huge backlog of applications. Also, there is a huge rise in the job vacancy rate as well. This indicates a slower rate of economic growth. Thus, to meet the same, the country is gearing up to issue a higher number of invites for permanent residency in Canada.

If you match the IRCC cut-off then you will get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR. This ITA is valid for 60 days. As a result, you must submit a complete and error-free application with all supporting documents. IRCC will then process your application and if accepted give you a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
