NB Express Entry Stream

The NB Express Entry Stream is linked to the federal Express Entry (EE) System. And selects applicants who have the skill, knowledge, experience, and language skills to grow the economy of New Brunswick (NB).

Who can apply to the NB Express Entry Stream?

An applicant can apply to the NB Express Entry stream if it meets the terms such as:

• Firstly, have an active Express Entry (EE) profile.
  • Also, have a valid Job Seeker Validation Code and an EE profile number.
• Secondly, must be currently living in the province.

Besides, an applicant living in NB can be:

Either working for an NB employer:

• Have a letter of employment from an NB employer.
  • This job offer must be full-time, regular, and paid.
  • Also, must have a valid work permit.
• Job position comes under the NOC O, A, or B.
• Also, have CLB 7 language skill level in English/French.
  • Give test results for IELTS/CELPIP and or TCF/TEF.
• Finally, must have an ECA report.

Or is studying in a publicly funded post-secondary educational institution.

• Firstly, the applicant is currently living in NB.
• Secondly, have proof of being enrolled in a designated learning institution in NB.
• Also, have a valid study permit.
• Besides, have proof of work experience in a NOC 0, A, or B skill level occupation.
• Further, have a language skill level of CLB 7 in English/French.
  • Also, give valid test results for IELTS/CELPIP and or TCF/TEF.
• Finally, have a valid Canadian diploma or have an ECA report.
  • Besides, the ECA report must confirm that the applicant’s education level matches that of a minimum of a Canadian high school diploma.

Further, the applicant must meet additional NB PNP terms such as:

• Agree to continue living in NB.
• Have an eligible connection to Canada.
• Have enough funds to support itself and its family.
  • Also, this term applies, even when the applicant’s family members are not coming to NB.
• Qualify for a NOC 0, A, or B job position.
• Also, have a valid job offer from NB.

NB Express Entry Stream Selection Factors

If an applicant meets the above terms, then their application will be assessed as per the Point Based System. To qualify under the NB Express Entry stream, you must score a minimum of 67 points out of 100.

6 Selection Factors

Age – Max 12 Points

 

Language Skill Level – Max 28 Points

Canada requires all applicants to have a job-ready language. This means that the applicant must be able to communicate in English and or French. Because Canada has 2 official languages (English/French). As a result, it must submit test results to show proof of its language skill level.

The language test results must show that the applicant has a minimum level of skill level in all 4 key areas such as Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing. You can submit test results for:

• English – IELTS/CELPIP
• French – TCF/TEF

Minimum language skill level requirement:

• English – CLB 7 in all 4 skill areas, or
• French – NCLC 7 in all 4 skill areas.

Minimum score requirement for CLB/NCLC 7 in English/French.

Education – Max 25 Points

To get points under this factor, an applicant must give Canadian educational credentials or an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) report for foreign education credentials. An ECA report proves that their foreign education is equal to that of Canada’s education system.

Work Experience – Max 15 Points

To get points under this factor, the work experience must:

• Firstly, be for a minimum period of 1 year within 10 years.
  • Also, this can be within Canada or abroad.
  • Besides, work experience can be full-time or part-time.
  • But must be for a total of 1,560 hours (30 hours per week).
• Secondly, be regular and paid.
• Also, must be in NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B.

Employment in NB

As per this factor, the applicant’s Express Entry (EE) profile can get extra 10 points if they are working or have a job offer from NB. However, to do so the applicant’s job or job offer must meet the following conditions:

Adaptability – Max 10 Points

When not to apply to the NB Express Entry stream of NB PNP?

One cannot apply to NB Express Entry Stream if the following conditions apply to them:

• Already have an active application registered with PETL.
• Are an owner of any property/business in any other province or territory in Canada.
• Your application process is currently in processing in other province or territory in Canada.
• Were guilty of misrepresentation in any immigration program.
• Are living illegally in Canada.
• Are on a removal order, or do not have permission to enter Canada or any other country or territory.
• Have been working in Canada without authorisation.
• Are living in Canada and do not have legal status to do the same. Also, you have not applied for the restoration of your status before 90 days of losing your status.
• Are a failed or unresolved refugee, or humanitarian and compassionate claimant living in Canada.
• Are an illegal resident in the country of your current residence.
• Studying as a full-time post-secondary student in Canada.
• Have a part-time, seasonal, casual job in NB.
• Are in a sales job that only offers a commission.
• Your job will not be based in NB.
• Are registered in the Live-in Caregiver Program.
• Application is based on a job offer where you will be self-employed in NB.
• Currently, are on a Post Graduate Work Permit. Also, your occupation comes under NOC Skill Level C or D.
• Your job offer may impact a labour dispute, or hiring of anyone who is under such a case, or may affect training or employment opportunities of Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in NB.
• Have a job offer for your application, where you are a major shareholder in an NB business, Or
• Have a job offer for your application where you intend to become a business owner or be self-employed in NB.
