From June 26, 2024, to June 25, 2026, Quebec will process 13,000 family sponsorship applications only. The further breakdown of the 13,000 cap for family sponsorship class applications is:
Quebec sets a 13,000 cap on family sponsorship applications for 2 years. On the same, the Quebec immigration minister shares that it will announce when the cap has reached. Also, any cap-exempt application that reaches after the set limit will be returned along with application fees.
In addition, the minister attributes the new family sponsorship cap of 13,000 to the rising housing crisis in Quebec. Similarly, for the rest of Canada, we have been seeing similar reforms since the beginning of 2024.
So, it is not surprising that Quebec too is imposing a cap of 13,000 on family sponsorship applications from June 26, 2024, to June 25, 2026.
