  • Firstly, Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot (HCWIP) divides into two pilots:
    • HCWIP Childcare
    • HCWIP Home Support
  • Secondly, each of the above pilots divide into two streams:
    • Workers in Canada Stream
    • Applicants not working in Canda Stream
  • Also, application intake for ‘Workers in Canada Stream’ for HCWIP Childcare and Home Support pilots open on Mar 31, 2025.
    • The application intake is open until March 30, 2026, or until the cap is reached.
  • Besides, there is no news yet regarding the application intake opening for ‘Applicants not working in Canada Stream’ for the HCWIP pilots sub-streams.

 

Who can apply to the Workers in Canada stream for HCWIP Childcare and Home Support pilots?

HCWIP Childcare: Workers in Canada Stream

  • Firstly, you must be living in Canada.
  • Secondly, you must have a legal work authorisation and status in Canada.
  • Also, have a minimum language skill level of CLB/NCLC 4 in English/French.
    • Submit test results not more than 2 years old.
    • Acceptable test results: English – IELTS/CELPIP/PTE Core.
    • Acceptable test results: French – TCF/TEF.
  • Besides, you should have a minimum of 6 months of work experience OR have completed minimum 6 months of relevant training in the past 2 years.
  • Moreover, your work experience must come under the following eligible NOCs:
    • NOC 44100 – Home Childcare Providers
    • NOC 42202 – Early Childhood Educators and Assistants
  • In addition, you must have a valid full-time, paid, and continuous job offer.
    • Your job offer must not be for an institutional setting.
    • Your Canadian employer must qualify to hire and offer you the job offer as per applicable and acceptable IRCC requirements.
    • Also, your job offer cannot be for NOC 42202 – Early Childhood Educators and Assistants.

 

HCWIP Home Support: Workers in Canada Stream

  • Firstly, you must be living in Canada.
  • Secondly, you must have a legal work authorisation and status in Canada.
  • Also, have a minimum language skill level of CLB/NCLC 4 in English/French.
    • Submit test results not more than 2 years old.
    • Acceptable test results: English – IELTS/CELPIP/PTE Core.
    • Acceptable test results: French – TCF/TEF.
  • Besides, you should have a minimum of 6 months of work experience OR have completed minimum 6 months of relevant training in the past 2 years.
  • Moreover, your work experience must come under the following eligible NOCs:
    • NOC 44101 – Home Support Workers, Caregivers, and Related Occupations
    • NOC 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
  • In addition, you must have a valid full-time, paid, and continuous job offer.
    • Your job offer must not be for an institutional setting.
    • Your Canadian employer must qualify to hire and offer you the job offer as per applicable and acceptable IRCC requirements.
    • Also, your job offer cannot be for NOC 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates.

 

IRCC will select how many PR candidates under the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot (HCWIP)?

Canada is planning to select the following number of applicants between March 31, 2025, to March 30, 2026, under the HCWIP programs:
