Eligibility Criteria for the Opportunity Card

To qualify for the Opportunity Card, you must:

  • Have at least two years of vocational training or a university degree recognized in your country of origin.
  • Demonstrate language proficiency: German at level A1 or English at level B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
  • Show financial solvency: Proof of funds to support yourself during your stay in Germany (at least €1,091 per month as of 2025).
  • Score at least six points in the Opportunity Card points system, unless you are a recognized skilled worker in Germany.
