{"id":7252,"date":"2025-05-07T07:05:59","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T07:05:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webtechnomind.in\/work\/global-vision-Immigration\/?page_id=7252"},"modified":"2025-05-07T11:04:36","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T11:04:36","slug":"aged-dependent-relative-visa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webtechnomind.in\/work\/global-vision-Immigration\/aged-dependent-relative-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"The Aged Dependent Relative visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Aged Dependent Relative visa (subclass 114)<\/strong>\u00a0is a permanent visa that allows some older people who meet age requirements to migrate to Australia if they rely on an eligible relative in Australia to provide financial support.<\/p>\n<p>The application must be lodged outside Australia; and the individual must be outside Australia when the visa is granted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An individual might be\u00a0eligible for this visa if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are sponsored by a relative or their partner who lives in Australia<\/li>\n<li>Do not have a spouse or de facto partner<\/li>\n<li>Meet the\u00a0<a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dependency requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Meet the\u00a0<a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">age requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Have someone who will provide an assurance of support<\/li>\n<li>Meet health and character requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An individual \u00a0should not apply for this visa unless they believe they are likely to be successful, because the visa application charge will not usually be refunded if their application is refused or withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dependency:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be considered an aged dependent relative you must not be married or in a de facto relationship.<\/p>\n<p>You must be able to demonstrate that you have been wholly or substantially dependent on your relative in Australia for financial support for your basic needs of food, shelter and clothing or because you have a disability which prevents you from working. This support must have been continuing for at least three (3) years before your application is lodged.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Age:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You must be old enough to be granted an\u00a0<a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">aged pension<\/a>\u00a0under the\u00a0<em>Social Security Act 1991<\/em>. For more information, see the\u00a0<a href=\"#\">Department of Human Services<\/a>\u00a0website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does this visa allow:\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1973 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20230206073147im_\/https:\/\/gvimmigration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/10562979_m-199x300.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 232px) 100vw, 232px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20230206073147im_\/https:\/\/gvimmigration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/10562979_m-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20230206073147im_\/https:\/\/gvimmigration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/10562979_m.jpg 564w\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"350\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a permanent visa. It allows the individual and their family to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay in Australia indefinitely as an Australian permanent resident<\/li>\n<li>Apply for Australian citizenship (if they are eligible)<\/li>\n<li>Travel to and from Australia as a permanent resident for five years from the date the visa is granted \u2013 after that time they will need to apply for another visa if they want to return to Australia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The individual\u2019s sponsor in Australia:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The individual must be sponsored by the relative on whom they are financially dependent, and who has provided this support for at least the three years before they lodge their application. Their partner can also be their sponsor.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 sponsoring relative or their partner must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>18 years of age or older<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Settled<\/a>\u00a0in Australia as:\n<ul>\n<li>An Australian citizen<\/li>\n<li>An Australian permanent resident<\/li>\n<li>An\u00a0<a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eligible New Zealand citizen<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Before application:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Australian Government limits the number of Aged Dependent Relative visas\u00a0(subclass 114)\u00a0it grants each year.<\/p>\n<p>Aged Dependent Relative visa applications are given a lower priority than other family visas, such as partner and child visas.
