International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream (NSNP)<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

The\u00a0International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream (NSNP) is for\u00a0people who:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Firstly, graduated from a recognized Nova Scotia University or a community college in Nova Scotia;<\/span>\n
      \n
    • Also, the study program is full time and for a minimum of 2 years.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Secondly, have or\u00a0are running a business in the province;<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Also, are running\u00a0their business for a minimum of 12 months;<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Besides, they\u00a0want to settle in Nova Scotia.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Which businesses\u00a0can not apply to this program?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

      Your business can not qualify for the\u00a0International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream (NSNP) program if it is:<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      • A business that is run\/managed from outside Canada or Nova Scotia;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Property, rental, leasing, and investment activities;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Real estate construction\/brokerage\/development, insurance, or business brokerage. NSOI will allow running this business if the applicant proves the business will surely benefit the province;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Any self-employed businesses or professional services\u00a0that need\u00a0licenses and accreditation;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Payday loan, cheque cashing, cash machines and money changing;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Credit unions;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Pawnbrokers;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Home-based business, unless the applicant proves its profitability;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Cooperatives;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Investment in a business run for only getting passive income;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Explicit business activities \u2013 production, distribution and or supply;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Joint ventures between applicants of NSNP program;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Also, any other business that brings disrepute to the Nova Scotia government or NSNP.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


        What are the terms you must meet to apply to the International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream (NSNP)?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

        You can apply to this program\u00a0if you meet the following terms:<\/span><\/p>\n


        Terms for Applicants<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
          \n
        • Firstly, must have completed a minimum of 2 years (15 hours per week) study program. The program must have been completed from a recognized Nova Scotia university or community college in the province;<\/span>\n
            \n
          • Besides, during\u00a0your study period you\u00a0must be living in the province;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Secondly, must show intent to live and settle in Nova Scotia. Also, the program does not\u00a0take distance-learning or compressed learning study programs;<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Also, have a minimum language skill level of CLB 7 or higher in English or French.\u00a0Give one of the test results from IELTS, CELPIP, TCF, TEF. Also, these test results must not be more than 2 years old at the time of applying.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Besides, must be 21 years old or more;<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Finally, at the time of application, you must have a valid\u00a0Post Graduation Work Permit<\/strong>\u00a0(PGWP);<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


            Terms for Business and Finance<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

            Also, you must:<\/span><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Firstly, own and run a business in the province for a minimum of continuous 12 months;<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Secondly, must own 33.33% or 1\/3rd<\/sup>\u00a0of the business equity.\u00a0Also, you\u00a0must be actively involved in the day to day operations and decision-making activities of the business.<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Also, must be\u00a0getting a salary from the business which at least meets the Low-Income Cut-Off as per Statistics Canada;<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Further, the business must be in good financial health and must be profitable.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


              Terms for Applicant\u2019s Proposed Business<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

              In addition to the above, applicants must meet the following terms of this stream:<\/span><\/p>\n

                \n
              • The business started must have been as a carrier objective and not for immigration;<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Business must meet the legal terms of the province;<\/span><\/li>\n
              • This business must be for earning profits by the sale of good and services;<\/span><\/li>\n
              • And must be permanent under subsection 400(2) of the Canadian Income Tax Regulations, 1985;<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Must comply with the rules and regulations of tax authorities;<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Business must be actively run from the province and not outside Nova scotia or Canada;<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Besides, the business must grow\u00a0the province such as:<\/span>\n
                  \n
                • Add value to manufacturing or processing, exports, destination tourism, research and development, and technology commercialization;<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Develop innovative\u00a0ways\u00a0to grow traditional businesses<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Transfer technology and specialized knowledge to the province.<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Provide products or services to a local or regional market.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
