The\u00a0Occupations in Demand stream\u00a0helps Nova Scotia to hire skilled workers in the NOC C, intermediate-skilled occupations which are in high labour market demand in the province.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides, Occupations in Demand is a 3-year pilot stream. Also, it is currently open to 2 occupations:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • NOC 3413 (Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates); and<\/span><\/li>\n
  • NOC 7511 (Transport truck drivers).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    To apply, you must have a full-time, permanent job offer in one of the above-mentioned jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    What are the\u00a0terms you must meet to apply under this Occupations in demand stream of the NSNP?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

    To apply, meet the terms of the following factors such as:<\/span>

    Job offer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Under this stream, your job offer must meet terms such as:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Must be in a NOC 3413 (nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates) or NOC 7511 (Transport truck drivers);<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Must be for a Nova Scotia employer. Also,\u00a0the work location must be in the province too;<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Have a long term, permanent job offer;<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Finally, must be full time, regular (a minimum of 30 hours per week).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Besides, your occupation in-demand job offer cannot be for a position where:<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      • You are a seasonal, part-time, or casual worker;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • In a sales position that offers commission for compensation;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Are in Canada in the Caregiver Program;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Your job is not based in Nova Scotia;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Working for a home-based business employer;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Are self-employed;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Plan to start a business and\/or becoming self-employed;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Are a majority shareholder in a Nova Scotia business;<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Also, if you are a passive investor in a Nova Scotia\u00a0business with no intent\u00a0running day to day activities of the business).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

        Work Experience<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

        You must have:<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        • A\u00a0minimum of 12 months (1560 hours) of work experience within the past 5 years;<\/span><\/li>\n
        • This work experience must be related to the position and skills of the job.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Also, submit reference letters for the same.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


          Education level and Training<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

          At the time of applying to the program meet the terms such as:<\/span><\/p>\n

          • You must have a minimum of high school diploma; and<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Have required training, skills and or accreditation for the job;<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Also, if applicable, must have required licensing or certification in NS.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


            Language Skills<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

            All applicants must submit proof of job-ready English\/French. To do so you can submit test results for either English \u2013 IELTS\/CELPIP or French \u2013 TCF\/TEF. Also, these test results must prove that you have minimum CLB\/NCLC 4 level in all 4 language skill areas. Such as listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Besides, language test results must not be more than 2 years old at the time of applying to the program.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
