font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Visa Eligibility:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Prior to the application, the individual must have:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Applied for and been accepted to study in a registered full-time course at an educational institution in New Zealand<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Meet certain character requirements<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Leave New Zealand before the visa expires<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">What does this visa allow for:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">This visa allows an individual to<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Study full-time at the course stated on their visa \u2013 this includes schools, tertiary (study after secondary school) and English language study.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Work part-time up to 20 hours a week while studying or work full-time during the holidays, depending on their visa conditions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Live by themselves above a certain age, otherwise they\u2019ll need to bring along their parent or legal guardian.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Things to note:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">An individual can apply for this visa if they\u2019re a distance learning or correspondence student and they need to visit their New Zealand education provider for any reason to do with their education, e.g. to do practical study or sit exams.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">If they want to bring their partner or children with them, they can apply for visas based on their relationship to them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">The Student Visa is normally for the same length of time as the study They\u2019ve paid for.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Visa Conditions:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">If an individual is granted this visa, there are certain conditions that are described below that they must meet<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Entry permission \u2013 <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"> The individual must apply for entry permission when they arrive in New Zealand. They can do this by completing an arrival card, which they\u2019ll be given on the way to New Zealand.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">The individual can be refused entry permission if:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 450px;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">They\u2019re unable to provide evidence of any onward travel or funds required by the conditions of their visa.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">They refuse to let their photo be taken or to provide their fingerprints or an iris scan when asked to do so.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Their circumstances have changed since they were granted a visa<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">They do not meet the character requirements<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Travel\u00a0\u2013 <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">If an individual wants to travel in and out of New Zealand, they must have valid\u00a0<a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"https:\/\/webtechnomind.in\/work\/global-vision-Immigration\/glossary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">multiple entry travel conditions<\/a>\u00a0to return to New Zealand. If they\u2019re applying from inside New Zealand, they\u2019ll get a multiple entry travel conditions when they\u2019re granted this visa. If the individual does not have multiple entry travel conditions and they leave New Zealand, their visa will expire. The travel conditions will be recorded on their visa label or in their visa letter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Onward travel\u00a0\u2013 <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">During the length of the visa, the individual must have a travel ticket or funds available to buy a ticket to a country they can enter. The funds can be in the form of any sufficient funds held in New Zealand to purchase a travel ticket\/an acceptable form of financial undertaking by their guarantor or a current sponsorship by an acceptable sponsor.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Acceptable Sponsors:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">If the visa does not record that they\u2019re sponsored or state that a return\/onward ticket is not required, the individual may be asked for evidence of their travel arrangements when they check in or arrive in New Zealand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Funds or sponsorship- The individual must have enough money held in New Zealand to support themselves for the length of their visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">If they\u2019re sponsored, their sponsor must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Ensure their needs for maintenance are met while they\u2019re in New Zealand<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Pay any costs if they\u2019re asked to leave New Zealand.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">If they have a guarantor, their guarantor must ensure their need for maintenance is met while they\u2019re in New Zealand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">If the visa label or letter does not say \u2018Financial evidence not required\u2019 or \u2018The holder of this visa is sponsored\u2019, they may be asked for evidence of funds when they arrive in New Zealand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Medical and travel insurance:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">An individual must maintain their medical and travel insurance policy while they\u2019re studying in New Zealand, from the time they enroll until their visa expires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students do not need to have insurance.<strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2406 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221205205236im_\/http:\/\/gvimmigration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/NZ-student-visa-closeup-300x200.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221205205236im_\/https:\/\/gvimmigration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/NZ-student-visa-closeup-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221205205236im_\/https:\/\/gvimmigration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/NZ-student-visa-closeup.jpg 360w\" alt=\"\" width=\"374\" height=\"249\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Work rights for students:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">An individual may be allowed to\u00a0work\u00a0part-time for up to 20 hours a week and full-time during all scheduled holidays and\/or during the\u00a0Christmas and New Year holiday period.
