Both the partners must not have any dependents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">An individual can apply for this visa when they are in or outside Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Applying in Australia:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0If an individual applies for this visa while they are in Australia, they must be in Australia when the visa is granted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Applying outside Australia:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0If an individual applies for this visa from outside Australia, they \u00a0must be outside Australia when their visa is granted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">What this visa allows for:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">This is a temporary visa. It allows an individual to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Work in Australia for up to 40 hours per fortnight<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Travel to and remain in Australia for four years from the date the visa is granted \u2013 after that time\u00a0the individual\u00a0will need another visa<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Have\u00a0their partner (who has also been granted this visa) accompany\u00a0them to Australia. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Cost<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">The visa application charges are listed in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.border.gov.au\/Visasupport\/Pages\/Fees-and-Charges-for-Visas.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fees and charges<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">There is a second visa application charge payable prior to the grant of the Investor Retirement visa. This charge is payable in respect of each person applying for the visa and must be paid prior to each grant (including each time the visa is renewed).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Other charges that needs to be catered to by the individual are the costs of health assessments, police certificates, or any other certificates or tests. Further information can be found on their websites.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.canberrayourfuture.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian Capital Territory<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.industry.nsw.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New South Wales<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dob.nt.gov.au\/Pages\/default.aspx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Northern Territory<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tiq.qld.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queensland<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.statedevelopment.sa.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">South Australia<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stategrowth.tas.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tasmania<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/economicdevelopment.vic.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victoria<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><a style=\"color: #bf2026;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.smallbusiness.wa.gov.au\/small-business-development-corporation-home-page\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Western Australia<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Family<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">The individual and\u00a0their partner must not have dependent children or other dependent family members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Assets<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">They must have assets (or if\u00a0the individual\u00a0has a partner,\u00a0the combined assets) valued at least AUD750 000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">The assets must be:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Legally owned and lawfully acquired by\u00a0the individual \u00a0(or both partners)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Capable of and available for, transfer to Australia.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Exception:<\/strong>\u00a0If\u00a0the individual\u00a0intends to live in regional Australia\u00a0their assets must (or if they have a partner,\u00a0their combined assets) valued at least AUD500 000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">All assets listed must be held for two years before lodging\u00a0the application, unless they are related to superannuation, pension and\/or inheritance. If intending to sell assets for\u00a0the move to Australia, it is recommended that\u00a0the individual \u00a0waits until after\u00a0the visa is granted. If the individual is required to sell assets to meet visa requirements,\u00a0they should carefully consider whether\u00a0they will be able to finance\u00a0their ongoing stay in Australia. The assets are in addition to the funds required to make the designated investment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">This asset test only applies to new Investor Retirement visa applications. In cases of reapplication for the visa the assets test is not required to be met again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Income<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">The individual (or combined with\u00a0the partner) must have access to a minimum net income of AUD65 000 per year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">If\u00a0the individual\u00a0intends to live in regional Australia (or combined with their partner) they must have access to a minimum net income of AUD50 000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">This income test applies each time the individual applies for an Investor Retirement visa. If the individual chooses to reapply for\u00a0their visa\u00a0they will need to show that\u00a0their net income still meets this requirement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Designated Investment<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">The individual must have made a designated investment of at least AUD750 000 in your name (or in the names of\u00a0them\u00a0and\u00a0their partner), in the state or territory in which\u00a0they have been sponsored. The funds for the designated investment are in addition to their asset requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">If\u00a0the individual\u00a0intends to live in regional Australia\u00a0they must have made a designated investment of at least AUD500 000 in theirname (or in the name of them\u00a0and their partner) in the state or territory in which they have been sponsored.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">A designated investment must be maintained for the duration of the Investor Retirement visa. The amount of the designated investment decreases by AUD250 000 the first time\u00a0the individual\u00a0reapplies for the visa and then remains constant thereafter. If\u00a0they reapply for their Investor Retirement visa (subclass 405) a designated investment of AUD500 000 must be made and maintained. If\u00a0the individual\u00a0lives in regional Australia a designated investment of AUD250 000 must be maintained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Health Insurance<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">The individual must have evidence that they and their partner hold an adequate health insurance package for the period of\u00a0their\u00a0intended\u00a0stay in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">For health insurance to be considered adequate, it must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Be fully comprehensive<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Provide coverage that is at least equivalent to Medicare (including coverage of 85 per cent of costs for hospital, emergency, and general practitioner services)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">Provide coverage for pharmaceuticals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif; font-weight: lighter; font-size: 12pt;\">It is preferable that the policy is with an Australian insurer; however alternative arrangements that meet the above requirements can be accepted.
